Exhibit Managers Who Take on Too Much
On the day of the event, exhibit managers should focus on their marketing goals and strategies. That’s their expertise, and that’s what makes their company’s exhibition a success. However, the role of on-site supervisor often falls on their shoulders. When exhibit managers take on that responsibility, we find that they struggle in three ways:

  1. When they take on the role of on-site supervisor, they keep their full-time responsibilities. To balance both, exhibit managers are pulled in a million directions. If they are called off-site, they leave the booth without a capable supervisor which causes inefficiencies, delays, and stress for all involved.
  2. Rules and processes are variable from show to show (per the show manager and general contractor), and each region follows the local union’s jurisdictions. Without experience working with the show or union, the exhibit manager struggles to manage the process.
  3. When last-minute resources are required, the exhibit manager rarely has the local connections to get what they need.

When exhibit managers hire an on-site supervisor, they are relieved of the extra responsibilities. Nuvista’s on-site supervisors are available to make the trade show experience a success, from set-up to tear down, and more.

Pre-Show Planning for Smooth Set-up
To ensure a smooth install, we’ll meet with you before the show to understand your property configuration, especially important if you’re exhibiting with a new or a sizeable exhibit with a complex configuration. If necessary, we may have to call or visit the builder to work with the properties.

During the Show
During the show, on-site supervisors understand the expectations of the exhibitor and facilitate a seamless show. Being responsive to the needs of the exhibitor, supervisors fill in the gaps where necessary. They tackle various tasks, including:

  • Stocking the booth with giveaways
  • Tidying the exhibit
  • Ensuring that the audio-visual is working
  • Ensuring that the lead retrieval process is working

And when something goes wrong, the Nuvista team is ready to go above and beyond.

A Booth Turned to Ashes
When her exhibit burned to the ground because of an electrical short, one of our exhibit managers was devastated. She turned to Nuvista for help. The night before the show’s opening, her only hope was to rent generic furniture, equipment, and carpet. But the Nuvista team wanted to do more for her. They contacted partners in the local area to build the exhibit manager a new booth. Throughout the night, the Nuvista team and our partners worked to build the exhibitor a new booth.

The next morning, the exhibit manager arrived expecting to just find rental furniture and carpet. What she found was a 16’ tower, display counters, meeting furniture, new A/V, graphics and even a new hanging sign. Overjoyed with relief, all she could do was cry. When the Nuvista team saw her tears of joy, they knew that the effort was worth it.
